About tdap:
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), which was established on November 8, 2006, under a Presidential Ordinance, shall have Ministry of Commerce as its administrative ministry. TDAP is the successor organization to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and is mandated to have a holistic view of global trade development rather than only the ‘export promotion’ perspective of its predecessor. Designated as the premier trade organization of the country, TDAP shall be a dedicated, effective, and an empowered organization, which shall be professionally managed.
The Export Promotion Bureau, in Retrospect
Set up in 1963 as an attached department of the Ministry of Commerce, the Export Promotion Bureau facilitated exporters across the country. More than 20,000 exporters were facilitated and part-funded to exhibit their goods abroad, and thus grow their exports. Over 2,000 trade delegations were sent abroad or hosted in Pakistan in the 43 years of EPB. It provided a forum for dispute resolution between exporters and importers through the mechanism of commercial courts in collaboration with the judiciary.
EPB thus contributed in a significant manner, as Pakistan’s exports - reported at just under quarter of a billion dollars in 1963 - increased by over 70 times to touch nearly US $ 16.5 billion in 2005/06. However, professional human resources were lacking at the times of EPB, and so in order to improve this deficiency, and to change the image of EPB as a “Bureaucratic Organization”, need was felt for EPB’s metamorphosis into a more dynamic, professionally well-equipped organization, which was to be the TDAP.

The DTaP and Tdap vaccines protect against three bacterial infections, diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis. The dangers associated with diphtheria come from the toxin released by the bacterium, Corynebacterium diphtheria. The toxin makes it difficult for children to breathe and swallow, while it also attacks the heart, kidneys, and nerves. In the 1920s, diphtheria was a common cause of death in children and adolescents. At its peak, about 150,000 cases of diphtheria occurred in the United States every year. The diphtheria vaccine since it was first used in the United States in the early 1940s, has virtually eliminated the disease. Now we see bacterium, Clostridium tetani. Unlike most vaccine-preventable diseases, tetanus is not a disease…

Moreover variation exists in terms of pay packages, working conditions, incentives, recognition and fringe benefits for the employees Lavy (2007). These differences vary and depend upon the industry one is serving, the company policies, location, one’s qualifications and outputs. Private firms, multinationals and local companies face various challenges while operating in such unstructured market setup in Pakistan. It ultimately impacts the employees’ satisfaction with the…

The first slogan is “Empower your dreams”. For so many decades, the Indo-Pak businessmen, as well as their business organizations, have been demanding the normalization of bilateral trade regime and increase in trade and, hopefully, in investment. The desire has always been unhindered movement of businessmen across the border as well as longer duration, multiple visas without any limitations and restrictions. They want to see the day when there would be substantial bilateral trade ensuing very soon into a favorable and mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement. This has been the vision for many years and now the time has come for a formidable and sincere campaign to achieve this objective. The visit of the Pakistan Business Delegation in September and the expected 200-members Indian Business Delegation led by Indian Commerce Minister Shri Anand Sharma in February of 2012 would surely be the way in which the dreams would really be empowered.…

Pakistan has signed FTAs with Sri Lanka, China, and Malaysia and of course, for whatever is its worth, Pakistan is also a signatory to the South Asia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA) as decided by SAARC countries.…
