Title In the arid, vast desert, there lies a lonely log that’s inlaid its roots deep into the core of the Earth, searching for water of any kind. Over the years, the thick, green roots crept up and slowly broke through the soil, as if they were alive. As if they were suffocating and urging to escape the weight and darkness of the Earth. Skyrocketing up and begging to lean inward, the intertwined roots began to create a canopy, shielding the patch of ground from the sun.…

Gabriela- After the fifth dah of riding we arrived at Moonrock, not the tower but the outskirts of the place. Moonrock was in lower land than Skyrock and Starrock was in. It felt like living in the mountains in Skyrock, and Starrock wasn't as high but close enough. Moonrock was like in the pit of a large canyon, except obviously it wasn't as small of a space.…

On a hot summer day as I drove towards a small, isolated town called “Dusduo.” I, a small anxiety riddled Native American girl, had no idea what I was doing in such a barren area. My only three friends: Bailey, Roman and Timmy had spent countless hours convincing me to tag along on this “once in a lifetime opportunity.” They are all thrill seekers, and were thoroughly convinced that it would “change my life” for the better. The sole reason for me accompanying them was simply to witness their stupidity, however I quickly became aware of their motive.…

I did not want young and innocent Sam and Rosa to hear her…

How it All Began... As I walk through the half abolished bleak, gray building my footsteps echo all around me removing the hope that I might ever encounter another survivor. My body begins to tremble as I look at my hand starting to twitch, tapping lightly against my leg, the seizures have been getting more frequent as they are, unfortunately, one of the side effects of the first stages of the plague. I see a flash of movement out of the corner of my eye and turn to the side suddenly. "…

I feel as though there are a vast amount of reasons why school uniforms are necessary. School uniforms provide a professional and judgment-free atmosphere in school. Uniforms allow students to avoid the distractions of street clothing and the necessity of constantly changing dress codes to keep up with evolving fashions. Students have plenty of other creative outlets in school, such as writing, visual arts, music, and theater. Although it doesn’t give students the chance to individualize there self, in an atmosphere as such there is no need. The only individuality students really need is in their work ethic itself and I think that’s where society goes wrong these days.…
