2. Concentrating on differentiating instruction within my program is assisting me with the students’ development and my understanding of what they know and need to work on to further develop their skills. I am always thinking of different ways I can teach a concept within literacy and numeracy. This is enabling me to continuously use the student’s current
knowledge and skills to inform me of what they need to concentrate on in the near future.
3. I believe the first meeting with the instructional leader was beneficial to my learning. Understanding the clusters in more detail and using individual students writing samples for assessment purposes has assisted me in providing quality writing groups within the classroom for future success. With more guidance on improving writing outcomes would benefit me even more.
4. Having this as one of my personal learning goals has made me much more confident in modelling the writing process in front of my students. Capturing the modelled writing examples that I have produced has and will assist me in my future development as an educator. Although, I will need to remember to photograph more of my modelled writing as I tend to forget on occasions.
5. Regular positive communication with the parents has been one of my most rewarding experiences that I have been involved with this year. Since increasing positive communication with the parents in my class it has heavily increased the rapport between parent and teacher, and also teacher and student. At the beginning, I occasionally forget to call parents but eventually making it part of my routine. Using ‘post it’ notes has assisted me with more detail including who I have contacted and what the conversation was about.
