First of all, you were probably the funniest/most entertaining teacher I have ever had throughout my elementary and secondary education. I thoroughly enjoyed coming to your class. You made learning lots of fun. Your students became apart of your lectures so many times it was like we was living the history you were teaching. You have a lot of passion for your job, teaching us and personally made me want to give the same amount of effort…
My name is Grace Arvesen and I am currently a sophomore at Marist High School. When I think of great teachers, although I’ve had many, one comes to mind right away. Her name is Colleen Biszewski and was my 7th and 8th grade math and science teacher at Queen of Martyrs School. Not only did Mrs. Biszewski prepare us academically, but she helped us practice good Christian values. In addition, she was accessible for all students, treating everyone with fairness.…
The executive branch consists of six-state wide elected offices. Texas traditionally followed the plural executive system, which means that the general public votes six of the main executive branch officials in. The main advantage of this system is that every office holder is accountable for himself. They don’t have to answer to for each other or to each other but instead they are held responsible for their action, directly by the public. It puts the responsibly right on their shoulders. It also makes the voter more independent, as they cast separate vote for every office. Governor’s office, being the most talked about, is simply one of the six elected offices of executive branch. Second comes the lieutenant governor’s office. Lieutenant governor is considered the most powerful elected official in state of Texas. Other members of the executive branch are attorney general, the comptroller of public accounts, the commissioner of agriculture and the commissioner of general land office.…
One person who has been very influential in my life is Ms. Toni Gallow. Ms. Gallow is my former physical science teacher. She has inspired me so much. Not only did she teach me regularly in class, she taught me a lot about life. Ms. Gallow was very caring, unlike most teachers at Buckeye Trail. Ms. Gallow always encouraged her students to be the best they could be.…
You're one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. English and writing played a part, but the way you taught and related to kids on their level was pretty awesome to watch. I thought it was funny how you'd go off subject at a moment's notice and I remember you even bringing up two of my favorite subjects in class - Punk Rock and graffiti. I was especially impressed by your broad-mindedness and unrelenting support for the underdog.…
Harper Lee writes To Kill A Mockingbird staying true to the sexism that took place during the period of the 1930s. At this time, how women were viewed was a paradox. While women were seen as pure, perfect, and dainty, they were also highly disrespected by men, labeled as dumb, and forced to work in the home and bear children. This paradoxical treatment of women was convenient for men who desired to control women and maintain their submissive demeanor. This mistreatment was highly integrated into society and Harper Lee gives both antagonists and protagonists moments in which they disrespect or otherwise criticize femininity. Jem, Scout’s older brother and young boy growing into adolescence, frequently comments on Scout’s gender, at one point…
If I had an opportunity to say anything to Mrs. Myles today, I would tell her thanks for being my teacher. Thanks for always being there when I needed her. Thanks for always giving me a shoulder to cry on when time was rough. Thanks for always encouraging me to strive for the best and never settle for less. I would also tell Mrs. Myles the things she did for me, I would do it for her.…
As I entered first grade in Religious Education, the smile on her face told me that this was going to be fun and exciting. The teacher seemed happy and comfortable to have me as her student. All of the other kids came in, introducing ourselves to the teacher and talking about our summer. The room was small, but was enough for her to teach. The first day of school began and ended with a treat she brought for us. Since the start, I knew that I would get along with her just fine…
Memorable teachers are not the ones, who are the most pleasant to their students, but they are not the toughest ones either, they are the one that make you work for your knowledge, and you appreciate it, naturally much later in life. Mrs. Wright was very kind, compassionate, and honest no matter what the subject was or how she thought we were doing in school. She would always search for ways on how someone could improve. She has the skills to make you want to perform better, and continuously work to improve. This teacher had the passion to teach, and loved working with students, wonderful and necessary qualities to hold. She was eager to do whatever it took for a student to be successful, and to succeed in his or her classes. She always had a positive attitude, and strived for success. She would always say hello, ask about your day, tell you to have a wonderful day no matter what the day bring or crosses your path. She knew, and learn quickly that I have test anxiety, knew I always studied for hours on end, knew I knew the answers too, but once a test was placed before me, my mind would go blank, still does to a degree. She taught me some great testing strategies, ones that I still use day. This teacher was very inspirational, and gave you the courage to strive for success. Something I hope to match in my teaching…
While sitting at my desk on a Monday morning, with wide eyes ready to learn and open ears set for a new lesson to be taught, I wait for the day to begin as Mrs. O’ Toole takes the daily attendance. My 6th grade teacher, Mrs. O’ Toole, was an inspiring and influential teacher who changed my life forever.…
Mass food production has become an increasing issue in the world. It was created to help solve the lack of nutrition problem that was created by the staggering population growth of the human race. Short term it has solved the issue it was created for. But there are inherent risks that come with this type of food production. Mass food production causes a great deal of stress on the environment. The land, air, and water in the areas used for this production are slowly being destroyed. The problem does not just reside with feedlots; there are also issues with the fish farming industry as well as the agriculture industry.…
She taught me a lot, and really helped me grow and inspired me to want to walk in her footsteps. I don't believe any child would want to sit still for a whole hour playing the piano, I sure did not. I have had piano teachers in the past whom were unpleasant and rude, which made me dread going to class every week. My parents realized I was unhappy with my previous piano teacher and switched to Joy in hopes of making my experiences more enjoyable. Joy was a elementary teacher, so she was extremely empathetic towards kids like me. She found ways to let me actually enjoy the beauty of music, I got to pick the songs I liked to listen to and played according to my likes and dislikes. She was creative in the different activities we did each listen, and made me enjoy and appreciate piano. Her positive attitude made me feel less stressed out and more relaxed, this allowed me to be more confident and let my personality shine. I really appreciated my piano…
Despite that, she also taught me ways to release stress as well. She is also willing to give me extra tuition classes to help me in my studies. That is why I’ll always put more efforts and be diligent to achieve a good result. Thus to me, she is the most respectful teacher in my life. Of course when I have no idea what course to further my study, I will look for her and seek her advices. She is indeed a very good and kind teacher. She helped me in differentiating the advantages and disadvantages of the university and college that finally conclude first problem.…
Even know you had some ups and downs you was able to overcome that and be a perfect teacher. I remember you telling me that last year on Thursday’s afterschool you will have a room full of students there just to do homework if they couldn’t do it at home. And that is amazing, and I felt like that you achieve something in your life. And you had to tell the world. And I appreciate that, you keep the kids and the friends I know in straight. Even if you make me mad sometimes. But we are humans we are not meant to always be happy all the times. Always be a good influence because I will always remember you…
She was the most caring and dedicated teacher I ever had and she respected every student as an individual. On the other hand, she had a very negative influence on my life. She is the person who told me there was no Santa Clause, which ruined Christmas for me for a very long time. Another person who has had a great influence on my life is Mr. Robinson. He was my first band teacher. He is the person who convinced me to join band, which helped me make many great friends and also made school fun for me. He also taught me how to play the clarinet. Now, I love playing the clarinet and it could even get me a scolarship for college.…
