AND TASK-BASED APPROACH

ABSTRACT
Due to strong globalization, studying English has become an essential demand for everyone. It is used not only in daily conversations but also in many fields of social life such as business, education and conferences which require a good combination of all language skills: receptive skills (listening and reading) and productive skills (speaking and writing). However, English learners may have many difficulties in studying reading skill, especially adolescents at upper elementary level. In order to solve this problem, lexical approach, communicative approach and task-based approach are chosen among good solutions for mentioned issue. This report is writing with the aim of identifying the survival difficulties of adolescents in learning reading skill and how to apply these approaches to help students overcome their troubles. In addition, this report may distribute a better option comparing to current traditional ways to teach English in
Vietnamese high schools.
