It is vital for student’s success to learn spelling and grammar regardless of new technology. Many students do not have the technology to depend themselves in making corrections for them. They must learn how to use it properly too, because many young students can write a wrong word and go to spell check and pick a word that has a different meaning than what they are writing. Like in the article, they can also Google search and image with the wrong word and it could be inappropriate. It can also take them twice as long to correct a paper if they did not know how to spell and use grammar correctly. These are many examples on why students should be taught spelling and grammar. There was a poll taken in one of the articles asking if schools should stop providing lessons in grammar and spelling, 96.6% of people said no and 3.4% said yes. I am glad to hear that our world still believes that spelling and grammar is important in our lives. People understand the importance that it has in school and in our future unlike Sugata Mitra. Reading both of the theses articles has just made my opinion even stronger about teaching spelling and grammar regardless of our new technology. We can see all of the benefits that teaching this has and will continue to have to better our future
