Wake Forest Baptist Health utilizes the Relationship-Based model which is comprised of the care provider’s relationship to the family, self, and colleagues. Current healthcare business models are trying to focus on preventative, and outpatient care to cut cost on patient hospital stays, however, costs increase when there is poor collaboration between providers (AACN, 2002). Increasing demand and low supply of nurses also attribute to high patient nurse ratios which will only increase as the aging population continues to rise.
