• Selection modules – While conducting studies, employees were observed walking excessive steps to obtain empty totes, and incurred unaccounted wait times due to totes not feeding into the modules.
CVS states that they were aware of these problems, and has their maintenance department walking selection modules in order to identify and repair broken conveyor belts, rollers, and photo eyes. • Teepee Totes – In order to find the true cause of these overfilled selection totes, CVS is in the process
of implementing a “Teepee Tote” policy. This policy will have selectors aside totes to the floor within each selection module upon completion. Selector will then attach the totes assignment label on the “Teepee Tote” form located next to the control desk.
Inventory control will then investigate all selected items within the tote and make proper adjustments if found in error. Once corrections have been made, adjustments to item dimensions will be filled out on the “Teepee Tote” form by IC.
