Just like I mentioned in the topics above, the computer can not teach students how to write a correct essay or sentence. Computers do not teach punctuations, paragraphs, and verbs or nouns. A computer can auto correct a wrong word and it can also do some essential basics in writing, but the best job must be done with the paper and pen. Teachers can easily read through students notes and correct them.
Computers are expensive, so not every school or student will get a chance to have a computer of their own in the classroom. In most schools, students will have to share one computer per a group 5-8 people. Unless when governments change their policies towards education and use tax payers money to buy equipments needed in the classroom, our students will still share these tools. It is only children from wealthy families who can go to private schools which can provide these facilities to each student.
Most of the information published online is not correct. Since most publishers do this for money, they will write about any thing for the purpose of getting massive traffic from search engines and make more money. A publisher will have a list of keywords most searched for online, and they will just write what they know, no one will review this data, but a student will use this information thinking its all bullet proof. Most students have failed exams because they use this type of data from internet.
Classroom technology, especially laptops for individual student use, must be replaced every two to three years. Tech staff is required for a school with technology in the classroom. The more computers the school uses, the more people will be needed to keep the technology running.

It may appear that schools are being barraged with new technologies, but where have they been in the last decade? The problem is that institutions that rely on public funding find it much harder to get approval for advancements that may seem to some, a luxury. The mindset that technology is a ‚Äúfluffy‚Äù extra is still pervasive in the older generation of taxpayers who got by without touching a computer.…

The essay “Laptops in the Classroom? No Problem” by Elena Choy, states that banning laptops in the classroom in not the answer. I agree with Choy because with laptops in a classroom, students can access the internet and this is a great tool for research and also a means of communication by using tools like chats, e-mails and forums. With the arrival of the internet we were confronted with new possibilities, challenges and uncertainties in the process of learning and teaching. How can students and teachers adapt to a learning process involving a technology that is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and more challenging? For me, teaching, in a broad context, is to select and organize information in order to transform it into knowledge. Laptops can facilitate individual and group research as well as the exchange of ideas between teachers, their colleagues and their students. Using laptops to access the internet provides students with an exchange of experiences, questions, materials, personal exchanges, both of whom are geographically near and far. Laptops can help teachers to better prepare their class by expanding the ways to teach, to modify the evaluation process and communication with students and colleagues.…

Computers could easily be known a teacher’s best friend, but if abused and overused, computers can also be harmful to the learning process overall. Today, computers are being used in the learning process in schools. From grade school, kids are being taught to use computers in their day to day academic studies. This is why many students now learn to type before they learn to write in cursive. Gelernter thinks that improper or uncontrolled use of computers may lead to decline in literacy and lack of basic skills. Computers have the ability and potential to accomplish great things. And Gelernter agrees that “Computers should be in the schools.”(186) Using the right software, computers have the power to attain a rewarding learning experience.…

Since they have been introduced to society, computers have been incorporated into almost every aspect of daily life. Almost every workplace is run by a computer network, transactions at stores and restaurants are done using a computer, cars have computers incorporated into to them to help them run smoothly, and people have even taking in using computers for recreation. Lately, these computers have started to be used in the classroom, replacing the tradition of books, pencils and papers with personal computers. Some people think that this is a great idea, while others are still a little sceptical of the idea that the use of computers has benefits. In “Tech and content TEAM UP,” a mostly informative article in the February edition of District Administration Magazine, Michael Gagne talks about…

The internet is a great and expansive place, and that is why sometimes students rather explore it then listen to their teachers. All these sites and apps are taking up the attention of students throughout the world. This is shown in a Canadian study which proves that computers are helping lower the users grade and his or hers classmates as well. The experiment showed that students who were using computers during the lecture had lower grades than those who were using pen and paper. The worst part is that students around the computer user were also affected and they too had lower grades. A professor at NYU said that “screens generate distraction in a manner akin to second-hand smoke.” He teaches Media Studies and was an advocate for the use of technology during class. The tipping point for him was when he realized that the distractions spread. He no longer allows the use of technological devices unless the assignment requires it. He also stated that when technology was removed from the…

The conflict lies in that a majority of college professors believe that allowing students to use laptop computers to perform academic assignments in the classroom environment negatively affects their in-class performance more so than it benefits. These individuals will say that laptops distract a bulk number of students and will draw their attention away from the instructors. Others will say that allowing students to use laptops in the classroom engages and assists them while supplying equal access to technology, as well as help cultivate computer skills that will be useful once they enter the workforce. Professors from both sides of this issue provide good arguments to support their opinion, and I have therefore established a solution taking in respect the downsides from those against laptop usage, and the benefits from those who approve of them, which should indefinitely satisfy both sides.…

The schools that have had the most success are those that are able to afford the best computer systems, which make adapting to the newest technology an easier task. Since teachers know that new technology will mean a lot to students, they do not mind studying how to make the most of it. In many cases, public schools do not have the financial ability to provide new technology to students. Instead, they are stuck using the same old computers, software, and other hardware. Along with this, schools that are struggling financially also find it difficult to pay for system maintenance.…
