While technology is becoming a larger part of education, the merit of putting pencil to paper is valid today and must not be left behind in light of these modern advancements.
While technology is becoming a larger part of education, the merit of putting pencil to paper is valid today and must not be left behind in light of these modern advancements. Technology should not be taking over the way we educate people but only be supplementary. The key to technology being a supplementary tool is to integrate technology in form of online websites and computer programs. The balance of technology and textbooks needs to be evened out. The cost of educating a student needs to be reduced as the budget for education has begun to lessen slowly. The solution to hybrid programs costing too much and not working well enough is a program like the Florida Virtual School. Forms of technology in education are computer programs, online learning programs, and research finding sites. Sites like SIRS and EBSCO are used in colleges to find articles for research papers, while SIRS focuses on social issues. Online learning programs are for example, NS Online for Nashville State community college, which creates a place for students to access teachers and access schoolwork and Microsoft documents. Computer programs might be a program that is loaded onto a computer or tablet and used to complete schoolwork. There is concern that the quality in online education is low and depersonalized when the opposite can be true. The fact is that online education is personalized and the student can progress as fast or as slow as they like on many of these options for online education.
