Technology is a vital element of everyday life; it has been named ‘the single most transformative tool for development’. It increases access to knowledge, allows communication to be simpler and has generally made life easier. But can technology truly liberate? From the point of a technophile, yes it can. Technology has permitted many advancements in machines and the medical field. We can do things now that we never could have thought before, like, exploring space, finding cures and vaccines. Tools have also been created to accomplish early diagnosis of diseases like cancer, congestive heart failure and diabetes. Technology has liberated us in the sense that we know what is going on in the world around us because news comes so fast now, we can communicate with people so much faster via webcam, text, e-mail etc and it relieves us of duties. The Internet is a major part of technology and how it can liberate because everyone can voice their opinion on Facebook and Twitter, you can know what other people are thinking about and it allows you to communicate with people from across the world and see their point of view. It has made everything from banking to shopping ten times easier and gives us the freedom we need to live our lives, everything is done so much faster which allows us to see everything around us.
