Ted Turner’s innovation idea came after his father’s death when he takes over his father’s billboard broadcast company. Ted Turner was motivated to prove to his father that he was worthy of taking over the company and he also wanted to be at the top. Turner was a brilliant man who was crazy enough to try all the impossible things and actually successful at it. When Turner takes over the billboard company and expands it, so that his broadcast can reach all over America and eventually it reaches to worldwide. He purchases WTCG and later changes to WTBS, a TV station that Turner broadcast shows such as the joke show, his baseballs team show, cheap show, and running black and white program to completing with another program that run color program, which thus lead him to be in debt. He also purchases UFT company and started
a cable industry that wiring the country to provide a better reception and this lead him to do another idea of the satellite. Turner purchase dish to bream his Atlanta TV signal up to 22000 miles above the earth and using a satellite to bounce the signal back to the cable operators. Turner’s invention later enhances him further to the patch of inventing a great idea like CNN. Turner innovation started from his broadcast a 24-hour News or known as “Cable News Network” which this lead to the most successful innovation of all time. Turner started CNN and hopes to expand CNN throughout America and as well as to international. According to the video, Turner said, he “want to shrink the world” or for “America to understand the world and not being Isolationist”. Turner’s idea was doubted by many people on whether he can achieve that goal, such as to do a 24-hour news and further to included international’s news. On June 1st of 1980, CNN first broadcast turn to a disaster when they were unable to produce a 24 hours’ news and people were laughing at them. However, later CNN raises to the top during the Gulf War, where CNN lives news became the only source of information that other news station, America, and other countries rely on.
