Teen Activism

Teen Activist put their minds to change their community. At the same time there are many obstacles in the way, some minor and others major obstacles. Malala took a bullet to the head to get girls education. Even after that she was still protesting when the Taliban group told her to stop or their going to hurt her.
Another teen activist is Iqbal Masih. He was sold for 12 dollars so his parents can pay a dept. He started working in a factory when he was four years old. He has been working there for six years and finally escapes. He traveled to Quincy, Massachusetts for some help. They gave him money and had him go on TV to tell the world about child slavery. Five months later he was shot dead.
The other teen activist is Alex Lin. He started a group called W.I.N (Westley Innovations Network) to stop electronic waste or E-Waste. They went to Rhode Island state house to make E-Waste illegal. W.I.N did not stop there they made flyers and had radio announcement. Then a few months later they went

back to the Rhode Island state house and completed their goal of making E-Waste illegal.
Although Iqbal Masih didn’t get to complete his goal the 6th Graders he visited accomplish his goal by making a website that got a lot of attention and raised 100,000$ and build a school in Pakistan.
Teen activist are amazing. After Malala’s school was bombed she started to protest and Alex Lin read an article he decided to start recycling E-Waste, it all starts with one thing.
In conclusion, I believe Teen activist are amazing people. They would be rejected, shot a in the head, or even killed they always seem to figure a way to make a change the world and It’s not them who can do it, it could also be one of us.

Throughout the documentary, it points out different ways these people sacrificed their own lives for the bigger picture of the Civil Rights Movement. The middle of the documentary delivers this message to the audience with personal testimonies on quitting college for the Movement even after they fought so hard to get in (Freedom Riders, 49:30). Change comes with sacrifice and both the Freedom Riders and Anne Moody knew this. Even at the beginning of Anne’s life, she was sacrificing her earned money and self worth for her family. Though working for the racist Mrs. Burke sounded like the most awful thing at the time, Anne knew it was needed to keep her family surviving (Moody, 121).…

With a sole 2 week participation as a camp counsellor, I was granted the club’s volunteer of the week award. Some of my public-service support consists of aiding public events for the Canadian Cancer Society, opening the dialogue concerning mental health in my school, and advocating for injustices by signing numerous petitions. This is followed by sharing these pledges on social media in aims to educate my peers. Currently, I’m expressing my perception of my generation in an article for my school magazine. I hope to invoke a desire within my peers about the power we hold as youths and encourage us to challenge social norms rather than belittling ourselves through embracing a negative social label that brands us as a whining and thoughtless generation. To end, I was selected as a grade 12 representative for my school as part of student council, thus, I plan to encourage my community to engage in events with high spirits and be supportive of…

Savion began working part-time at Youth Uprising, teaching workshops to inner-city youth. Two years later, after completing his B.A. in the self-titled major “New Media, Art & Social Change,” he would lead the community center's multimedia department. There he created public service announcements and content for the center's YouTube Channel he developed with Gaines, YU Media LP, which peaked over a million views in 2010. Those skills became the foundation for YAK Films. One of the student-driven projects Savion led was called "Youth Jail Chronicles," which were short videos in which young people told personal stories about criminalization and incarceration in their neighborhoods. The films were filmed and edited by three of Savion's students, Darmarea Bar, Demani Adkins and Daeshane Moore, who won the…

I heard a lot of talk about how these activists were entitled, lazy, and selfish. It was around this time I began to understand politics as well, and began to comprehend what was meant by terms like “liberal” and “socialist”. I started to agree with what Johnny Oleksinski meant in his article written this year “I’m a millennial and my generation sucks” when he said “Millennials are the worst. I should know — I am one.” (Oleksinski).…
