Teen Activists Essay Have you ever wanted to change the world? Teen activists do! Teen activists are teens who fight for a cause or for what they believe in. All teen activists make a difference in the world. They have to overcome many obstacles, but in the long run that makes them a better teen activist who has such a strong belief that things should be different in their community. Some examples of teen activists that show this are Malala Yousafzai, Faye Carey, and Craig Kielburger. I believe all of these teen activists fight for what they believe in.
One teen activist who fights for what they believe in is Malala Yousafzai. According to the ´´Diane Sawyer´´ video and ´´The Daily Show,´´ Malala is a girl who lives in Pakistan. When her
school shut down she stood up for education rights. But a group called the Taliban shot her when she was 16 years old for standing up in what she believed in. Malala miraculously survived the attempt to kill her and continued to stand up for education for women. Malala refusing to die shows that she really wants to show the world that all people should get an education. In ´´The Daily show,´´ Malala says, ´´Education is the power of women.´´ I believe that Malala firmly believes that women should have education. Furthermore, Malala has had to overcome many obstacles like the Taliban, but they have all made her belief in education rights stronger. Therefore, right now, based on the ´´Diane sawyer video,´´ Malala is still standing up for education, she even has a fund called The Malala Fund. She even has her own book called I Am Malala! Finally, She is a symbol of hope for a lot of people around the world. In conclusion, Malala, as a teenager is a very inspiring person.
In addition, a teen activist who fights for what they believe in is Faye Carey.
Faye is a teenage girl who believes that abandoned dogs should be rescued and should have a nice comfortable home. It all started when Faye worked at an animal shelter and fell in love with the animals there. She decided that she wanted to help the animals find a good home. In the ´´Pet Abandon Weebly,´´ it says that the pound receives more than 20 dogs a week! This shows that animal shelters need a lot of help with all the abandoned animals and Faye is glad to help with this. I think Faye really loves animals and she feels their hurt, sadness, and loneliness. Many people are glad for her help. For example, the article ´´Animal Abandonment says,´´ "She really restores my faith in the community out there. She does a great job helping out." This gives evidence that Faye is glad to help and many people are very thankful for her help. Faye also has some obstacles that she has to overcome. Furthermore, in the ´´Abandoned Animals´´ article it says she still goes to school, has chores, has to do homework, and has to take care of her own animals at home. But this gives evidence that Faye really believes that animals at the animal shelter should be re-homed into a nice loving home. Faye goes out of her way to help at the animal shelter. Faye is trying to help in so many ways. To show this, the text in ´´Pet Abandon Weebly´´ says, Faye even has a Facebook page where she advertises animals at the
animal shelter that are up for sale. So, to summarize, Faye is a very generous person, gives up her time for the animals, and also another very inspiring teen activist who fights for what they believe in. Furthermore, another teen activist who stands up for a cause is Craig Kielburger.
According to the article, ´´About WE Charity,´´ 12 year old Craig saw in the news that Iqbal, a slave in Pakistan was murdered for speaking up for child labor rights. Craig decided to help join in the fight to stop child labor. Craig stands up for what he believes in because he realized that he could be Iqbal and he firmly believes that there should not be child slaves in the world. Craig is fighting to keep Iqbal's dream alive. There are still some obstacles that Craig needs to overcome. For example, some people in the world still want there to be child labor and Craig has to fight against them. And also in, ´´About WE Charity´´ the text states, ´´But they soon discovered that freeing children from slavery was not enough—the families of freed children continued to struggle to support themselves and many freed children had to return to work.´´ So Craig had to overcome the problem that people getting freed now couldn't support themselves anymore. So Craig had to improvise and he created ´´WE Villages´´ to give people that are freed from child labor their basic needs in life. Craig has a lot of people helping him fight for his and Iqbal´s cause. They are all happy to fight for Craig and Iqbal's cause. Craig and people helping him are speaking out on television and people are interviewing him to find out more about how to stop child labor. Craig firmly believes in his cause and he is a
very inspiring and hopeful teen activist. As you can see these teen activists, Malala, Faye, and Craig all fight for what they believe in. All of these teen activists are very inspiring for me and I think they are inspiring for everybody else too. I learned that even though there will be bumps on the road and obstacles to face that you should never give up because if you don't, who will? These teen activists can all be a role model in our lives and we should strive to be like them. To fight for a cause and for what we believe in.
