Cell phones and driving is a big problem especially for teen drivers because it’s a huge distraction for us. If you text or call while driving you not only put yourself at risk of death, but others on the road as well! This is a problem for teens especially because us teens are new to driving and we have less understanding of consequences of a car crash (insurance increases, injury, lawsuits, even death.) Most adults would say it’s because teens have the attitude of thinking they’re invincible, which is true speaking as a teenager myself, but not all teenagers are like that. AAA Campaign group aims to pass texting while driving bans in all 50 states by 2013. “The AAA legislative push to enact texting while driving bans is supported by new research released today by the Auto Club of Southern California showing that the texting while driving ban implemented in California in January 2009 appears to be reducing texting by drivers.”

The phone company AT&T has started a new movement called "It Can Wait." The movement is devoted to educating the public, adults, and especially teens, about the dangers of texting and driving. Some ways that AT&T is trying to stop texting and driving is by: telling people to take the pledge to never text and drive, and advertising with their 10-minute documentary about the dangers of texting and driving. http://www.itcanwait.com/all
There are a large amount of things that can be done. Parents can teach their teens before hand like my older brother has done with me, and make teens pass a class first instead of a driving test. To make people more aware of this issue I can show them videos on how cell phones and driving is dangerous.
