The Freedom From Religion Foundation had filed a complaint against the school. The school has been displaying the statue of Ten Commandments ever since the 1950s. The judge stated that the Freedom From Religion Foundation was right, and the administrators have to keep church out of the public school. Additionally, the judge stated that since Connersville Junior High School receives public funding, it has to abide by state laws.
The Ten Commandments statue will
be returned to a Christian group called the Fraternal Order of Eagles. They stated that they were just trying to promote their faith in the area. This is not the first time that the Freedom From Religion Foundation has went after a Christian group.
In 2014, the group ordered that Penn State remove the Bibles from a hotel room. They stated that the reason they wanted to have the Bibles removed because it advocated killing people who were non-believers. Now, the Bibles are only available by request.
