A groin stretch involves a passive and relaxing stretch that is done while lying down with your face upward (a supine position).
While lying on a supine position, spread your arms to the sides as you bring the feet towards the torso. The knees should fall to the sides and your soles together, in the meantime, make sure that the feet are perfectly centered.
Note that you should not push or force your knees down with your hands or leg muscles; it is also not a must that your lower back must be flat on the ground. As you get deeper into the stretch, let the gravity pull your knees down, hold the stretch for about three minutes, in the meantime you can just relax or meditate.
