CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Overview of the current state of technology
The manual system has many flaws. It is considered as an outdated system. But some schools are still using this kind of system, thus problems on human errors, data lost and time consuming had always been a problem. Modern day technology makes life simple and easy in many ways. The Internet, for example, is a very helpful tool for the students for research purposes. It also features online applications that help individuals to work through the World Wide Web. P.D. Monfort National Science High School ( Pambansang Mataas na Paaralang Pang-Agham ng P.D. Monfort) is a public science high school in the Philippines, recognized by the Department of Education. The school was established in 1987. The enrollees last 2004 is only 768, but as years passes by ,the enrollees also increases. Currently it has 1225 student enrolled. The school is located in Barangay Lublub, Dumangas, Iloilo . The principal of the school is Violete L. Libo-on, Ph.D.
Currently, the system of the school are not yet upgraded they are still using manual system to compute all the records. They need a lot of time to process all the records and to inform the parent or guardian of the student.
The flow of the current system are as follows: first, the teacher will get all the records of the students, then the teacher will make another copy to send to the department office. If the departments check the record, the copy of the student record will give it to the principal’s office to be checked again, after checking the principal of the school, he will send back the grade sheets to the teacher and
