Over the past few years technology has changed and had significant impact on the way we live. Almost everyone has a smart phone, regardless of age or social status. We text and email instead of talk, because it faster and convenient. We can rent movies with a click of the button and stream it to our device or home. Everything is based on internet and although prices aren’t cheap, everyone can afford something that suits their budget. I have also noticed that our textbook uses bar scan, assuming that everyone has a smart phone to retrieve it. Tablets, which are like mini computers, absolutely took over the market. Even small children know how to operate them. They are easy to use, convenient and have all the things needed in one place. You are able to connect to people from all over the world in seconds. Not only you can hear them, but you can also see them. Things that seemed to be impossible a few years back now are only one click of a button away. The cars are equipped in road maps and phone systems, so it makes our driving more safe and helpful. We probably think it can’t get any better, but we are almost guaranteed to be introduced to a new phenomenon at least once every few months.…

In fact, convergence has become a standard for almost all major media networks (“Media convergence,” n.d.).While convergence has affected the way media is conveyed and received, there was a time when simpler methods of media were the primary source. Broadcast television is one of the more modern formats of media from the 20…

Media convergence is the mix of all mass communications. It clashes the three C’s computing, communication, and content and is a direct content for digitization of media content. It turns around the already established media and enables entirely new forms of content to emerge. The five major elements of media convergence are the technological, the industrial. The social, the textual, and the political. Technological is the most understood. It deals with the internet, smartphones, tablets, and TV’s and the digital devices. The industrial convergence deals with the big-time companies like ABC, Disney, Paramount, Time Warner, and other big time companies. In 2005 the company Myspace took over the intermix media Inc. The Social convergence is like technologies but is only for interned communication. It became more popular in the 2000s, with the 2.0 websites. The textual convergence or transmedia storytelling, and it is a narrative structure that expands through both different languages, like verbal, iconic, etc., and media, like cinema, comics, TV, videogames, etc. Stories are told through multiple platforms. There has not been a media franchise that is fully transmedia…
