“Tiger parent”, this term was appeared in recent year. This term represent the parent who are strict and demanding to push their children to gain a high achievement. Besides, the education attitude of some parent towards children were also too strict. The meaning of high achievement, in my point of view is that the strict parent want their children to perform well not only in the academic field but also the non-academic field. For example children need to be the best in school and to become winner in every match. Some people state that this attitude of strict parent can lead children to have a better future. I am not agree at all, I think this type of parent will lead the children to have a bad future.
I will explain with two reason which are behavior problem and level of reliability on the parents.

Dr. Laura Markham, a clinical psychologist and author of “Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids,” stated that strict parenting can actually create behavior problem to children. The strict parent deprives the learning opportunity of child. It causes children miss a chance to learn something new. But this is not the important point, the most important is that when the children miss those learning opportunities, they may not know how to take care themselves. Self-care is a very important issue to every children. This skill is one of the survival skill for them when they grow in the future and step in the society. Due to the reality will not treat you like their parent. The reality is harsh and people need to be careful other people. Besides, if the strict parent use the punitive discipline. The teen is also more likely to be rebellious, angry or depressed, become overweight or become an excellent liar. All these consequence may enhance teenagers to build up a bad personality. With a bad personality will also affect their future. In other words, it will lead teens to have worse future. Due to bad personality may mean that teens have

“When it was said that it was done to please a woman, there ought perhaps to be enough said to explain anything; for what a man will not do to please a woman is yet to be discovered” (Chestnutt 30). In the “Passing of Grandison” and “Editha” both authors bring to light the ideas of women and the impact they have on the actions of men. However, there are few to no rules set for the children and this parenting style tends to be considered “pushovers” because they do not want to upset the child. Permissive parents tend to compromise the rules and expectations set to avoid confrontation, and they are more of a friend than a parent more times then not. Although a child might think that a permissive parenting style is the best because there aren't set boundaries or consequences, but permissive parenting can have long-term damaging effects. These damaging effects could be insecurity in the children because of having no set boundaries, poor social skills because of lack of discipline, self-centeredness, poor academic success because of lack of motivation or clashing with authority because they never had to…

At this point, my parents with their individual viewpoint started to have variance on me adapting to the new environment. Having different perspective towards society's operation caused tension within our family. Now the question arises," Don't parents realize that too much parental control halts child's personal growth?" Such type of parenting style is referred to as authoritarian. "Authoritarian parents utilize strict and harsh child rearing techniques with an absolute set of standards to which children must conform while permissive parents provide too few rules, boundaries, or restrictions for their children" (Chong, et al 1). Parents must not adopt authoritarian parenting style as it contributes to such behavior which is never welcomed by them when presented and further leads to tension within the family. This parenting style develops such consequences which leave kids down with psychological and personality disorders, consisting problems like fear of failing at each step of life, withdrawing oneself from socializing and turning out to be authoritarian towards parents as an…

By giving no leverage, there is no room for change and they will not take any pleas or bargains into consideration. Parents lay down the rules and they expect children to follow them without any question. With this type of parenting, when children try to challenge the rules, there is no debating or discussing the situation, it’s a strict “because I said so” answer. (Morin, n.d.) The way they discipline their children is very different from the other three types of parenting. Discipline is training one to obey the rules or doing something to correct the bad behavior. (Discipline, 2011) Strict parents like these believe that when they discipline their child, this means to punish them. Consequences are the results of an action that has been done. There are two types of consequences: Reinforcement and Punishment. Reinforcement encourages good behavior and helps to keep the lines of communication open between a parent and child. Punishments impose suffering which actually shifts the focus from the actual lesson that needs to be learned to “showing” who is in control. In punishment based parenting, few words of explanation are given by the parent. Children are often left confused and unsure of their behavior, and it is given out of anger or frustration. (Petrus,…
