Synergy of Selected Herbs as Healing Cream

Chapter I
Background of the Study

Rationale
Various industries are now searching into some of alternative, more natural and environmentally friendly anti-microbial, anti- fungal, antibiotics and anti- oxidants.
Herbs have properties which make them now useful and effective as food ingredient and antidote for varied sickness and illness. They show wide disparity in therapeutic values. Their use as materials for development as drug has been known by trial and error.
The present study attempts to discover and develop healing cream from selected herbs that hopefully have more effectiveness and no side actions like most modern drugs.
Objectives
The study was conducted to determine the synergy or united action of four selected herbs Ashitaba, Peppermint, Italian Oregano and Mayana. Specifically, it attempted to: 1. Determine the level of acceptability of the healing cream using varying levels of each of the four selected herbs in terms of. 1.1 Color 1.2 Aroma 1.3 Texture 2. Determine if there exists as significant difference on the level of acceptability of healing cream among the five treatments.
Hypotheses:
There is no significant difference on the level of acceptability of healing cream among the five treatments.

Chapter 2
Review of Related Literature

Traditions of plant- collecting and plant based medications have been handed down from generation to generation. A research article reported that traditional knowledge as medicinal plants plays a vital role in the primary health care and has potential of the discovery of new herbal drugs, new sources of pharmaceuticals, contraceptives and for sustainable utilization of medicinal plants genetic resources and their conservation ( Maridas, et al, 2008)
Ashitaba
In traditional medicine, the plant is seen to be a strengthening toxic; the exiles
