The one of the most needed and appreciated things in a persons life is security. If a person could reach the degree of protection against danger, damage, loss, and crime than the whole State and the World would be in peace and harmony. It all starts from an individual level and goes till the international or vice versa. The feeling of security is important for individuals as much as for the national and international level, because society consists of individuals and if there is a danger for the whole society, than it is so for each individual too. Nowadays, this feeling is at risk because of different factors, one of them is- terrorism.
To explain the meaning of the word “terrorism” I prefer the definition of the Department of Defense of the United States- “The calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.”[1] Within this definition, there are three key elements—violence, fear, and intimidation—and each element produces terror in its victims. Who are the victims of terrorism? The victim of terrorism can be anything starting from nature, environment and animals, ending with the people, countries and the international organisations etc. In this essay I will be describing term “terrorism acts” from the individual, national and international level perspectives.
Every act of terrorism can be looked from each of these three perspectives. For example, notorious tragedy of September 11, when terrorists from the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger jets and hit the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. From the individual level perspective I can say that this tragedy caused such a sorrow and panic for huge number of families, whose members died. Every victim of September 11 was loved by
