Terry Fox was very determined which is one reason why he did not end his journey, leaving his goal unaccomplished. He was optimistic throughout his journey, which helped him overcome the obstacles that stood in his way. Although Terry’s was determined to continue his marathon, he was forced to stop. His cancer had spread to his lungs. His doctors told him that he is unable to continue the marathon before things get out of hand. Terry didn’t start to think negatively. He looked on the bright side. He was proud of his choices and his actions. He raised a lot of money for those who were suffering of cancer. Even though he was not able to continue running, he had raised $24.17 million. Terry Fox had no choice but to end the marathon of hope. Although Terry wanted to continue, he couldn't or his conditions could worsen. June 28, 1981, Terry Fox had passed away. People were inspired by him, so they continued the marathon of hope for him.
