Yes, although their vehicles have a zero emissions rating, Tesla Motors still can have a negative impact on the environment. Production of these vehicles is not a very green process and uses up a lot of energy and resources. Depending on where you are and how you get your power (coal, nuclear fission, etc.) it can be just as harmful as driving an SUV.

Tesla's goal is to achieve net zero energy with this gigafactory.

Tesla has already partnered with several companies in order to accomplish goals. For example, Tesla partnered with Panasonic in order to build the Gigafactory. By partnering with other companies they can assist them to grow and achieve their own goals simultaneously.
