Testosterone Injections
Summary: Testosterone level is suggested to have something to do with people’s willingness to talk. Scientists designed and performed an experiment involving 18 female-to-male transgender people, who were called the subjects. As the subjects need to take daily testosterone injection, scientists chose them as the subjects, rather than other healthy people. Comparing subjects’ brain scans before and after taking the testosterone injections, researchers found that there were significant differences between the scans the gray matter in the regions of subjects’ brains that are related to linguistic ability decreased dramatically; however, the white matter connecting these regions increased not as much.Therefore, scientists suggest that testosterone
is partially responsible for people’s willingness to talk.
