Little did she know the car in the next lane ahead of her was swerving and would end up hitting her because she didn't notice the vehicle, why? All because of the small text she was reading and or sending back. If she wouldn't have picked up the phone to read the text, she could've avoided the swerving car and not got hit. We all know the times we are in the car, and our phones go off, and we are tempted to pick them up and check them or send a simple text back maybe even take that quick phone call. Texting requires visual, manual and cognitive attention from the driver. It is by far the biggest and top distraction globally. They are making the cars with more elaborate control that can protect, notify, and avoid collisions.
