Humans have their opinions on how many people text or email now. But is texting really destroying the English language? The TED Talk video, “Txting is killing language. JK!!!” by John McWhorter debates the topic of how texting is affecting the English language. Texting is not necessarily making our language bad, it just isn’t making language better. Texting is not killing our language for many people. According to John McWhorter, texting is not killing language, because people are communicating through texting in various ways. “Texting is fingered speech” (McWhorter).
