Inside the capitols training center there are several training stations where tributes have been given the opportunity to learn and perfect certain skills they believe may be needed in the arena. Each skills station is supervised by an expert in the specified field who tributes if they wish can spar with as no tributes are to fight each other before the games. On the final day
of training tributes are assessed by the game makers who then issue the tributes with a training score.
Atala the head trainer, explained to the tributes the idea of each station and the possible ways to die in the arena whilst stressing the importance of survival skills. Rue from district 11 and Foxface from district 5 have undoubtedly listened to Atala’s valuable advice. Rue the youngest of the tributes aged 12 is exceptionally talented with her agricultural knowledge from her harvesting background at district 11, additionally at her private scoring with the game markers Rue showed her a brilliant talent at climbing trees un-noticed scoring a seven. During Foxface’s private training she tested her knowledge on plants in a matching test scoring a five, “I believe my knowledge will become valuable in the arena, obviously the makers don’t see that” she said after her scoring session.
Physical strength the main trait of many past victors. This year’s tributes with remarkable strength are Cato from district 2 and Peeta Mellark from district 12. Cato a volunteer for this year’s games is a career tribute whom has trained for many years in preparation for the games helping him score a ten in his private training session. Petta a baker from district 12 showed the game makers his physical strength scoring an eight. “I have gained my physical strength from working in my parent’s bakery since I was 12, I am grateful of my parents,” said Petta during his training session.
