Mrs. Jones taught Roger kindness. Even though he tried to rob her, she did not turn him into the police. Instead, she was kind to him. She let him clean himself and fed him ten cent cake and beans. Another way she was kind to him was by giving him the money. After Roger told Mrs. Jones he tried to rob her because he wanted to buy blue suede shoes, she gave him ten dollars. Mrs. Jones forgave Roger and showed him kindness.
Roger also learned honesty from Mrs. Jones. She taught him to take responsibility for his actions.
