That Number Is Flat Wrong Summary
In the article “ No, there haven’t been 18 school shootings in 2018. That number is flat wrong” written by John Woodrow Cox and Steven Rich talks about what you should consider a school shooting because most school shootings aren't really a “school shooting”. In this article it gives an example that the organization Everytown states that there have been 18 school shootings since the beginning of 2018. After they say this the writers respond by saying “ It is a horrifying statistic. And it is wrong.” The writers inquire this in their writing to show you what the article is about and so they could hook you on to the article. The writers do this so that you will continue to read the article because you want to find out why this statistic is wrong

The issue at hand here is “Is There Support for Arming Teachers in Schools?” This issue is argued by both Nirvi Shah, and The National School Safety and Security Services organization. Nirvi Shah believes yes there is support for arming teachers in schools, while The National School Safety and Security Services organization believes no there isn’t.
