It also made the World Series be cut; the last time it was dropped was in 1904. The strike ended in April 1995, lasting 232 days and broke the record for the longest stop in MLB history.
Fashion:
Fashion underwent a dramatic change during the 1990’s. Skirts and dresses became less normal and women started wearing casual clothing after it became more tolerable with hip-hop and alternative music. Bow ties and long ties were prevalent throughout the 1990’s for men. Dresses and skirts also became shorter and much looser. For hairstyles; straight or spiral perms were often traditional for women. Later in the decade angled bobs and mid-length haircuts became famous.
Styles became more relaxed and t-shirts become more modern. T-shirts grew popular because they allowed people to express themselves and their interest in their attire. Clothing also started to have designer labels as a way to promote status and trendiness. Walking shoes with heels and athletic shoes became more suited for every day. George Bush was the 41st President and Bill Clinton was the 42nd President. During his presidency George Bush passed the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990, it was one of the most civil rights bills in decades. While President Bill Clinton was impeached in 1998 for lying about his relationship with a White House intern. He was found not guilty and finished his second term.
In 1992 the twenty-seventh amendment was signed and added to the United States Constitution. The amendment prohibited laws that increased or decreased Congress member’s salaries until the next term of office for representatives.
There were many new changes during the 90’s. In 1999 the world's population reached six billion people. Madeline Albright became the first Secretary of State in 1996. She believed women needed to help with progression the progression of the country by getting involved with politics more. Canada, U.S.A, and Mexico signed the North American Free Treed Agreement in 1993. It was the world’s largest free trade area. The agreement brought economic growth for all three countries.
Historical
