The Alchemist Research Paper
Let us wonder off to a forest for the very first time, let us try to find the beautiful scenic fall that everyone talks about but soon you grow tired frustrated and there was nothing to be found, well how do you think you can get to a fall if you have no map or any signs to lead you the way. Similarly are the objective of a goal, it is the road map of our life and its advantages of a goal as follows
To realize the importance of these

1. Increase productivity
Larry bird once said A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.
~ Larry Bird Quotes
Once you put down your goal on pen and paper you have just went through your first step.

2. High chance of success
In the words of the famous author Paulo Coelho once wrote When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
~ Paulo Coelho Quotes from The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream.
- Going back to the forest we realize that our chances of finding the beautiful fall is higher when using a map than going in without one, we might as well go in blindfolded. Which is exactly what this second advantage proves, wandering in life will get us nowhere close to our dreams which is why when we have set our goals we have a high chance of achieving It because the map will lead us the way. This map creates a sort of benchmark for us to measure our success and this goal becomes a security builder and reduces the fear of failure

3. Focus the effort in a consistent direction
"You control your future, your destiny. What you think about comes about. By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands: your own."
~ Mark Victor Hansen

Self motivators and energizers.
Goals are not only absolutely necessary to motivate us. They are essential to really keep us alive.
~ Robert H. Schuller Quotes
Which brings us to the last point that Goals are our motivators and energizers. A goal gives your life porpuse, it helps you wake up in the morning and give you a sensation which will make your life full of porpuse. As talayah mentioned the stastics prove that 92% believe they should set goals because the majority as dissatisfied with their life, it is not late to put down your goal and work for something you truly believe in. Motivation helps us achieve higher result and makes us work more effiecently and given us the better result.
I would like to stress the importance of goals and why best seller books like the secret and Dr phill life startgeies has achived to help millions realize their goals are in their hands. That goes back to the psychology that you are acknowledging both your conscious and subconscious mind that where you are right now is not where you want to be, and you have become dissatisfied. This motivates human action and helps achieve success.
I would leave you with the words of Robert frost

In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

First, setting goals will help you focus on where you need to get to, instead of fooling around when you shouldn’t. I once read that having no goals to aim for is like shooting an arrow with no target, and it’s true. What are you aiming for in life if you have no dreams to reach? By setting goals, it will motivate you to keep going. Whether it’s for your education or in your career, you will want to keep pushing yourself so that you can become the best that you can. As Dr. O. Carl Simonton once said “Goals are simply tools to focus your energy in positive directions, these can be changed as your priorities change, new ones added, and others dropped.”…

I agree on all four reasons and I always make my goals, so I know where I am going. Goals motivate myself to finish and stay focused. Without goals for a group, everyone work with what they think they should do. This can be very difficult to accomplish anything in a cohesive manner. Johnson and Johnson (2013) mentioned that the goals need to be clear goals. I sometime see the goal statement that they said, “do their best”. This is not a clear and concise goal and will be hard to accomplish.…

    Art of Setting Goals

The issue is that when we are consumed by our goals, we focus on the future rather than being present to what is around us. Life seems like a sacrifice. We become stressed as we work hard towards our goals. Life doesn’t flow effortlessly and we feel guilty for not keeping up with our promises to ourselves. And to make matters worse, because we are so focused on our future goals, we often miss “hidden” opportunities that would bring us even greater success and happiness.…

It is useful to separate the two concepts. We can define a goal as that outcome which we strive to attain in order to satisfy certain needs. The goal is the end result, the need the driving force that spurs us towards that result. A student might have a goal to get an A in a course, but this goal may reflect a number of different needs. He or she may feel a need to confirm his or her competence; friends may all be getting A’s; he or she may wish to have the esteem of others; simply to do the best possible: to keep a scholarship. It is difficult to infer needs from goals.…
