The alternate ending

What if belle fell for gaston and care not for the beast? or the princess and the frog never kissed? will cinderella still be recognized by her prince? if in the palace ball, she's not in.

what if rapunzel never grew her hair? will her prince be able to reach her lair? and if shadow never left peter pan's side, then peter and wendy's roads wouldn't collide.

what if aurora never shed her blood? having no one to wake, her prince will be sad. and what if the queen is the fairest of them all? then snowhite would not be standing tall.

now these what ifs i tell, are those what ifs that kill. turning happily ever afters so pale, making all live on FAIRLY tales.

    Snow White Analysis

The Queen was jealous of Snow White due to the fact that Snow White was fairer than she was. This exemplifies how women may constantly plot up against one another to claim the trait they feel rightly belongs to them. The Queen does everything in her power to kill Snow White so that she may become the fairest in the land. When she finds out that her hired huntsman did not complete the task of stabbing Snow White’s heart, she takes measures into her own hands First, she disguises herself as an old woman selling pottery and bodices. Snow White let's her in, only to have the Queen lace her bodice too tight to the point of suffocating her. The dwarves come home to see that she is unconscious and unlaces her and Snow White awakens and breathes regularly. Meanwhile, inside the palace the Queen looks at the mirror and asks the question as she did numerous times, “Mirror Mirror who is the fairest of them all?” The mirror answers truthfully and still answers Snow White, beyond the mountains with the seven dwarves is still a thousand times fairer than you.” This angers the queen immensely, thus for the second time she goes to the dwarves cottage in an attempt to kill Snow White. At this point, with the assistance of witchcraft the queen creates a poisoned comb and then disguises herself as a different elder woman and walks…

    Qichao Alternate Ending

    • 1245 Words
    • 5 Pages

Qichao was absorbed by the dirt around him. Rising from the dusty ground, they flew upon slight breezes to cake his clothes, face and hands. He looked at his hands, the brown had become deeply ingrained within the lines of his palm, roughened and blistered from the handle of the hoe. He turned them over, they were tanned a deep, deep brown, the lines obvious, old hands, incongruous with his youthful face. His back was aching from being bent over constantly, his feet pricked by sharp stones, the bottom of his trousers ragged, from the fields. On this rare lunch break, he was again seized with that strange feeling. Anger, frustration, bitterness, it was a strange mixture, all muddled and tumbling over each other. He did not know why he felt like this, but recently, it seemed as if a steel claw of want had taken a hold of his insides and pinched. He felt almost pain from these strange feelings of wanting, needing something, but he did not know exactly what.…

    The End of the Race

Thinking about the outcome of mixing races, are Asians and Europeans distinguishable in the distant future? As intermarriage goes intense, there would be many minorities in race. In contrast, majorities’ attitudes toward minorities generate discrimination simultaneously; minorities are more likely to be exposed to prejudice. However, Steve Olson says that each mixed individuals are the key to weaken the barricade between races. Matthijis Kalmijin also supports the point that intermarriage decreases the conflicts between cultural groups and it weaken prejudice and stereotypes against other races.…

In the original story of Cinderella “the sisters struggle to squeeze their feet into the golden (not glass) slipper.”(Berman) The sisters gruesomely cut parts off of their feet in an attempt to get their feet into the slipper, which is something you would never even imagine seeing in a Disney movie. Some might say that it was for the best that the tales were changed from their original forms into something more childish. However in reality they were sending a much better message.“In the Grimms’ world, evil may rule, but their is also the utopian promise that with a sense of right and wrong, plus some magic, one might be able to live happily ever after.”…

The first ending chosen by Arthur Miller was actually quite similar to the published one. Eddie assumes his love for Catherine and decides to kiss her once again to make her choose between him and Rodolfo, and stop her from marrying him. He even begs for her to stay and love him. After failing, his next attempt was to go after Marco to get back his name. They both engage in a deadly fight. Eddie died killed by his own knife. His last words were: “Catherine-why?”. This quotation is very suitable for the story, and relates with Eddies feelings for Catherine which he demonstrates in the story. The weakness of this ending is that although Eddie’s actions towards Catherine might be convincing, I think that they are a bit exaggerated, because Eddie always had a tough attitude, and I don’t think that begging fits him. In my opinion, Alfieri should resume the play like he did in the original one. I think this should be done because when the play ends, we get a negative impression of Eddie’s character, so Alfieri’s last words would make us sympathize more with Eddie, saying that although he made mistakes, he is still is capable to love.…

In all these versions, readers or viewers find a common thread to all. The wicked stepmother and siblings are either punished or forgiven, while the sweet, gracious, and beautiful Cinderella marries the prince, and as such escapes her miserable life. According to this tale, marriage is the ultimate goal in life especially for the woman. In Cinderella, all the maidens in town go to the ball just to marry the prince. Even Cinderella desires to go because she sees marriage to the prince as the solution to her problem. “The ideological and psychological pattern and message of either Perrault’s or the Grimms’ Cinderella do nothing more than reinforce sexist values and a Puritan ethos that serves a society which fosters competition and achievement for survival” (Breaking the Magic 195). And this applies to the other two versions in this analysis. Women are typecast as incomplete and invisible without the prince, who obviously is a wealthy archetype. There is a certain important message in Cinderella that is most profitable to marry a rich man, because it earns the woman respect and dignity.…

As he lay there on the floor in his empty room on his crippled, fragile, insect molded body, he heard the sound of the front door slam and the family vehicle speed out of the driveway. Gregor leaped up in a panicked, stunned state and stood in perfect stillness on his hind legs. A gleaming, bright ray of sunlight caught his eye through the crack of his door. Gregor slowly guided his way toward his door in agonizing pain while trying to keep himself stable. As he peered thought the door, he slowly opened it wide enough for his large figure to slip through. When Gregor emerged from his depressing room, he followed the light to find himself looking at his reflection. Once again, Gregor stood there, frozen. His train of thought suddenly changed from nothing to all things negative. At that moment, Gregor realized that the fight he fought wasn’t against him and his family, but against himself.…
