The Amazing Spider Man Research Paper
Last year, in seventh grade, I was invited to be in beta club. Beta club is a club for middle school honors students who do volunteer projects and go to a regional competition in the spring. When spring came and it was time to go to the convention the fourteen club members skipped school and went to Springfield. The caravan of cars started driving at 5:00 sharp. Most people slept on the car ride but my friends and I just talked. When we were on the highway there was a tire in our lane the driver did her best to avoid it but one of the back wheels hit it and sent it flying at the car behind us. When we stopped at the hotel all the girls who had been in the car behind kept saying “You tried to kill us!” At the hotel we got inside we found …show more content…
The events that I was doing was a poetry writing contest and a book battle. My poetry contest was the first on the schedule after that I rushed to the book battle room. A book battle is where a group of three or four students reads a list of twelve books and take a composition test on it together. My teammates and I thought that the was easy but we were the very last ones to finnish.
Once I had finished both of my events I was done for the day so I went into my hotel room and watched “The Amazing Spider Man” with a friend. At dinner time our whole group went to Red Lobster. There we ate as much as we could hold and took a grand total of seventeen rolls back to the hotel.
That night my friends and I got into our pajamas and watched a movie while eating our rolls.
In the morning the whole convention went into one of the auditoriums to hear the awards being called out. I didn’t win anything for poetry, but my group won first place in book battle. As I went onto the stage I couldn’t stop smiling. Our school got first place in two other events. That meant that the people events that placed qualified to go to nationals in Disney World. For the rest of the day my friends and I kept saying “We’re going to Disney!” because we couldn’t believe what had happened. And all the way home we held our first place

One night we were at Emili Lewis’s house. A few of us girls wanted to try to stay up all night. It had been raining so we decided we wanted to go for a drive. This point of the night it was like 1:30 a.m. We drove for a little while before we got bored. We decided to brainstorm some ideas of stuff to do. We decided we wanted to go out to Box Canyon in Kaitlin’s truck to look at the stars. It took us a little while to get everything put together. We finally started heading out there at 3:00 a.m. On the way out there we passed a truck. The truck was very short, matte black, and had a circle light bar in between the headlights. None of us recognized the truck and we got a little nervous. We decided to ignore it and keep going. For the rest of the drive we talked about boys, problems, and then we started talking about scary stuff. When we got out there we were too scared to get out of the truck, so we turned around and started back into town. We got…

Many of these people usually follow their dream by moving to Nashville or Los Angeles and perform in restaurant or on the streets and for some their dreams came true very easily, but for others it takes a lot of work and passion to reach their goals and this did happen for one man, and his name was Sam. He always dreamed of one day facing an enormous crowd of people and singing the songs he wrote for them. Sam loved country music and wrote many different country music songs, and he knew he wanted to be a singer for a living.” Since, he was a very determined man, he decided that he needed to chase after his dreams, so…

On Saturday March 8 I attended the rockabilly festival that took place in Pitzer College. This was a great experience because I had the opportunity to feel what it was like during the rock n roll times. I was invited to go through Mr. Molina in MECHA to help out with fundraising. I was there all day selling raffle tickets to people who attended the festival in order to raise money for the MECHA scholarship. Through this experience I had the chance to practice on my communication skills by persuading people to buy tickets.…

We were the champions. Skating as fast as possible, I rushed from the blue line to the net where our goalie was. Our team dog piled on top of one another and screamed with joy. Cheering and crying rang throughout the entire arena. I was elated, tears streamed down my face as I hugged my teammates. After a few seconds, our team recognized that we needed to shake hands with the other team. I understood the defeat and sadness in the opposing teams’ eyes because earlier in the year, I lost to an underdog team in the soccer section final. After the hand shaking, I was a given a medal from my coach.…

When I was in seventh grade, my middle school participated in a very well-known science fair competition in Los Angeles County. The fair showcased projects done by students all over the county, and only a few of the best students were chosen as winners. The winners, depending on the grade level, won cash prizes, medals, and even scholarship offers. As most people would be, I was really enthusiastic that I got an opportunity to participate in such a rigorous event.…

Fantastic Four is a fictional superhero team appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The group debuted in The Fantastic Four #1 (November 1961), which helped to usher in a new level of verisimilitude in the medium. The Fantastic Four was the first superhero team created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist and co-plotter Jack Kirby, who developed a collaborative approach to creating comics with this title that they would use from then on. As the first superhero team title produced by Marvel Comics, it formed a cornerstone of the company's 1960s rise from a small division of a publishing company to apop-culture conglomerate. My last year of band, my junior year, we got accepted into going to all-state band. I’d never done this before, so it was a whole new experience. We had been working on a bookmark piece for the entire year now, ready to perform it for competition. It was titled “Bookmarks from Japan”, and is still one of my favorite pieces I’ve heard to date. We preformed in front of four judges, and then listened to other bands. Once the awards rolled around, surprise filled the room. Our band had taken second place overall. In the ENTIRE state! I’ve never felt more recognition for hard work than I have in my life.…

We were about a week away from my first meeting and I was freaking out but then I was also super happy. (Mixed Emotions) I asked everyone else in school who signed up. If they did, what club they were in and when their meeting was. I only knew one person who was in my club. We were really good friends. It was Sunday and we were heading to the meeting. My stomach felt like butterflies and I had no idea what was going to happen or what it was going to be like. We pulled in the parking lot and walked into the building in Bloomville. There were so many people in there and I only knew a few. I was so…
