The American Dream, throughout the decades since the 1920s, has changed based on the culture of America and what was going on throughout the world. The American Dream is a constant struggle for many, but for some, it is a great triumph. What people gain is wealth, success, and happiness, but what people lose far outweighs what they gain. People have lost their lives to achieve such prosperity in America. The irony of what the dream is and what it should be is unresolvable due to people constantly changing what The American Dream is. The unreliability of what The American Dream is causes people to shield themselves from what it actually should be. The American Dream should find a stopping point in the near future to put a label on what it should be. The constant state of change we have seen over the decades, and America’s difficulty in finding what it truly is, it is hard to see that happening in the constantly changing world we live
