The American Dream In The Great Gatsby

The American dream is defined in many different ways by many different people. In The Great Gatsby, Gatsby has his heart set on Daisy to gain her love again but is soon ruined when he does not realize he can't repeat the past. In another person's viewpoint of the American dream is that they see the issues it can cause for the government such as "income inequality" (Merino). While some may say that it can cause government issues, the American dream is a reality to achieve whatever dream that the American citizen can dream of. Many people see especially immigrants who come from other countries such as Central America, Syria, and others places where they are suffering from to gain freedom, but they know they have the potential to succeed their dream. The dream of an American citizen or any other person in the United States is possible and is achievable because people work hard and they use hope to achieve the American dream.
Many immigrants that come from other countries came to find an opportunity of having their own American dream. Most Americans that are in the U.S. does not want to take up jobs that immigrants have because they want to have an easy job that they can do. Warshauer claims that "many workers no longer" see "a vision for the future that includes time and sweat" which is not true for most people because still goes through hard work because not many of the current Americans do not want to take up the hard work or the hard path to achieve their dreams. As former president Barack Obama said in his speech in 2008, "we are, and always be, the United States of America" because in here in the United States, there has been a lot of hard work that people put into making America just to gain freedom and to receive and
