Certainly, the American Dream has changed over time, it was the same for everyone in the past. Most people wanted to find their soul mate, or the one that they would have a happily ever after with. They wanted to live a perfect life and eventually have a couple kids. Many wanted a huge, beautiful house with a white picket fence with a big family. They basically wanted the best of everything for example cars, houses, family, just a better life in general. Many people today still see this as the ideal American Dream, but others may have a different opinion of perfect …show more content…
today. One main reason people have different dreams is because of the way we were brought up and raised.
Surely, a childless couple will have a completely different idea of the American Dream. They will have completely different goals than couples have children. A childless couple is going to focus more on themselves rather than building a family. They will focus more on the luxuries and try to make the best of what life has to offer. Childless couples will enjoy their time together as a partnership. They will most likely travel more or even go out more frequently. Couples with children, on the other hand, will spend more time at home taking care of and providing for their children. They will spend more time with their children and will be more focused on raising them how they choose.
Another thing to take into consideration is American immigrants because they are not going to want the same thing as a natural born American citizen.
An American immigrant will not define the American dream the same as a natural born citizen because they were both brought up different ways. Immigrants will not have the same goals and accomplishments as anybody else. They may have lower standards and be satisfied with things people would not usually be okay with. For this reason, many American immigrants may take the jobs nobody wants and are satisfied with it because it was better than their previous life. Many U.S. immigrants view the American Dream as simply getting a job that will barely support their families and pay the bills. America is the "Land of the Free," which means that you can do anything you desire as long as you work hard enough and that everyone living in America has equal opportunity. This is why people from other countries look at America and want this life for themselves, as well as their loved
ones.
In conclusion, The American Dream can be defined in many different ways. It all depends where you come from and how you were brought up in this world. Some people want the big house with the white picket fence and others are simply satisfied with getting by. America is the "Land of the Free" and offers many opportunities, but it all depends on how you define your American Dream.
