Another way to look at this type of characterization is by how the characters interact with internal and external forces to better understand the characters personally. An example of this characterization is shown in halfway to the story when he American man and Jig have a heated argument in regards to the operation. Following this, the two continued on the argument, the American man continues to insist that jig needs to get the operation and Jig carefully, but sly fully remarked “‘I don’t care about me’” (223). Suggest on how Jig feels like something important will be gone and feels despondent about the operation the American man insist that Jig should get to make him happy. Furthermore, this action translates to how the man ignores the girl emotions and justifies his will must be followed, which is, a typical male dominance, part of the gender-biased
