Yet, criminalization is whatever the cultural of society you live in believes is wrong. So it can target a specific type of person or a specific group of people. Next is surveillance which is the way the government monitors said criminal behavior (Herzing, 2005, Page 3). The surveillancing the behavior is which leads the government to prosecute or enforce laws of whatever criminally negligent dead was done. The creation of rapid incarceration growth begins with policing courts and prison. Policing is the way the laws are carried out, courts is the way in which one can be tried for redemption or the seriousness of the crime is tested, and prison is the negative reinforcement which is meant to rehabilitate. Considering that some people are introduced to the law at a young age or due to current laws, such as the three strikes law. It makes it hard for criminals to rehabilitate. Prison are generally becoming more and more over populated. Nonetheless once in prison things do not get easier. One may face prison labor and fees.
