A prehistoric virus had been awakened it seeped into the breach from where the message had came from causing it to leak out onto Earth. Tane and Rebecca started off towards Rebecca’s house, the only building in the city left standing. Once they got there they realized that the power was still on. “weird” said Rebecca “why’s the power still on if the generator was destroyed. “No idea” said Tane stunned.…
What happened to the people was that there was an nuclear blast and they all died.…
Stone wrote a paper arguing that space probes carried with them the possibility that extraterrestrial organisms would contaminate the earth. He and a group of expert presented a petition to the U.S. president in 1965, proposing a facility be established that can deal with an alien life form, should it present itself. The goal was to segregate it, analyze it and protect earth life from it.…
In early July of 1947, most likely around July 4th or 5th, something crashed to the Earth in the high desert of eastern New Mexico (Carey & SChmitt, 2009). Mac Brazel, a ranch hand on the J.B. Foster ranch, went to check on his sheep one morning after a series of severe thunderstorms. He was concerned about the wellbeing of his cattle because he heard a very loud explosion the night before during the storm. Upon riding out to the pastures, Brazel discovered a huge amount of strange debris scattered across the fields. Not knowing what this strange debris was, Brazel gathered some of it and showed it to his friends…
After performing a gram stain on unknown number five, number five was determined to be gram positive rod. On the TSA plate, number five had the following morphology: very large, raised, opaque cream color colonies that covered the entire plate and had beta-hemolysis. All the results from the biochemical tests performed are listed in Table 1 and are also shown in the preliminary (Figure 1) and final (Figure 2) flow charts that are included at the end of the lab report.…
Section 1, “Something in the Air”, begins h a day-by-day account of the anthrax letter attacks in Florida and Washington, DC, for the period 2 to 15 October 2001. Robert Stevens, a photo retoucher for the tabloid, The Sun was a victim and US Senator Tom Daschle was an intended victim. The reactions of the FBI, the CDC and the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) are detailed.…
They have the largest bio-containment laboratory in the Department of Defense. They also develop medical products to protect the US Army from bio-weapons. They have bio level 4 labs, which is the highest level of bio lab there can be. They have to wear space suits when operating in these labs because the viruses they handle are extremely dangerous and/ or lethal. They are much smaller than the CDC because they only have about 450 staff. Their staff includes physicians, veterinarians, microbiologists, pathologists, chemists, molecular biologists, physiologists, and pharmacologists.…
The two scientists accidentally discovered and detected what they thought was noise from their instrument, but was actually a constant background signal coming from everywhere in space.…
The story tells about a man, his wife and their baby surviving a nuclear war. From a goodnight sleep, the man and his wife were woken from the loud sound of the sirens. Wondering what was the siren about; they tuned in the radio and discovered from the announcer that there will be an air raid happening in fifteen minutes and is warning them to take cover. The man asked his wife to put on many layers of clothes to her and their baby while he gathers for some food and water for supplies. After the man gathers the supplies and put on some clothes, he brought his family down to the cellar, took cover, waited for the explosion to come, and hopes they survive that. Then finally the bomb has been dropped. No words can explain the destructive power of the bomb. Indeed, it is louder than deafening but the baby slept through it. They crawled out of the cellar, got rescued by soldiers and learned that they were the 7th, 8th and 9th person to be rescued.…
It was that time of day when the afternoon barely gave away to the glorious wonders of the night. The birds had stopped chirping and the many creatures that stirred in the ruins of the city, those that found it livable, had retreated to their underground homes. It had been a decade, a lifetime since the city had been reduced to rubble. The radiation still lingered in the air. It added a new taste, similar to the taste of an orange or a lemon. The crater from the bomb had been filled with rainwater to form a lagoon. The river’s natural current carried away the radioactive debris to the forest where, undoubtedly, the creatures of the forest would drink the contaminated water.…

In the episode of Star Trek, titled Space Seed by Gene Roddenberry, there are plenty of examples of science fiction. At the very start of this episode and almost every Star Trek episode you see the crew in a spaceship flying in space, called the starship enterprise. This is one example of science fiction because even though we have spaceships now, in Star trek they can somehow cancel out gravity so they don’t need to wear space suits like we do today. Also the starship is huge and has multiple levels. It is very futuristic, almost like a mall flying through space.…
In source A I can learn that they operated in crowded conditions. Which could mean they operated in classrooms with students, however due to it being over crowded there could have been a loud amount of noise, causing the teaching to be drowned out, and causing the students to hear the wrong information and could cause life loss during their own operations.…
Ogden Marsh, Iowa was once the friendliest place on Earth. Until one day the “American Dream” changed into the “American Disaster” within a blink of an eye. The American scientific horror film, “The Crazies”, portrayed this disastrous apocalyptic event. The apocalypse is any universal or widespread destruction or disaster. Every apocalyptic event contains narrative elements which can be profoundly disruptive, chaotic, and uncontrollable. I believe the motion picture, “The Crazies” consist of these narrative elements.…
Unit 4 The Natural Environment and Species Survival A2 compulsory unit Externally assessed 7.1 Unit description Topic 5: On the wild side This topic builds an appreciation that photosynthesis is the primary process that underpins the majority of ecosystems, and provides students with an understanding of how ecosystems work. The topic continues by looking at whether climate change will lead to extinction of species or evolution by natural selection, and looks at the evidence for global warming and its effects on plants and animals. By the end of the topic students should appreciate how scientific understanding can make us aware of our responsibilities as stewards of the environment.…
