The Argumentative Essay Of Banning Books In Public Schools
Over the past 35 years individuals and organizations have tried to remove and ban over 11,000 books from public libraries, book stores, and schools. The reasoning behind their attempts at banning books are usually based on personal opinions or beliefs. Because everyone’s opinion is different some may think a book should be banned while others could disagree and be interested in reading the book. Many books can include information on unpopular religious beliefs, condone violence, or present scenarios that some may see as inappropriate for certain age groups. However, it should still be up to an individual or their legal guardians whether they should read a certain book or not. Due to the fact that most individuals have differing opinions or beliefs, books should not be banned and people should be able to read what they would like at their own risk.
Many individuals or groups believe some books should be censored or banned because they include information that goes against their personal beliefs or opinions, while others may disagree. Some may find a book to be offensive or inappropriate because it contains information and

Not only will this give individuals and students the opportunity to further their education on topics, it will also let them develop an opinion on possible interest of theirs. In addition, it will let them understand others opinions and viewpoints on certain subjects. It is very important to let students and adults alike, make their own decisions on what materials, subjects, and topics they study and learn about. Banning and censoring books makes this task far more difficult especially when it occurs in school libraries. Remember to consider these reasons and more when requesting that a book be banned or censored in your community or school

    Although I don’t agree with most forms of censorship, I feel as if it is important in certain situations. For instance, television must be censored because all age groups watch it, and it influences younger children’s behavior because they have seen it on television. Not to mention anyone at any time can watch TV. Whereas censoring books is completely different. The reader has the option to read the book, making the author not reliable.
