The Argumentative Essay: The Legalization Of Assisted Suicide
Why should it be allowed to have a doctor kill you? How would other people feel if their loved one died? Assisted suicide, or dying with dignity, is starting to be legalized in certain states including Oregon, Vermont, Washington state, Montana, and New Mexico. Massachusetts will have the option to vote for or against it in November 2016. Each state has different laws and regulations, but for the most part, they are all the same with some unknown inbetweens. Despite the fact that assisted suicide can relieve your pain, it brings a lot of pain to others, and it can be easily overlooked. To begin with, assisted suicide is a bad thing that brings pain to others. If a loved one died due to suicide, it would bring pain to all of their loved …show more content…
Undoubtedly, there will be people trying to smuggle this drug into other states where assisted suicide isn’t legal. Even though the doctors can’t be sued, people will try to sue them anyways for killing their loved one. Taking the matter too heavily is trying to force someone to take the drug and kill them or attempting to sue someone who can’t be sued. Taking it too lightly is to just say “oh well another person just quit.” These are both terrible scenarios of what could happen to our country when a lot more states start to legalize assisted suicide. In conclusion, assisted suicide is a bad deal because of the sadness and chaos it brings to the states of the U.S.A. Assisted suicide may relieve your pain, but it brings more pain to others than you would ever know. This is a serious matter, not just something that can be taken lightly like sports, depending on the type of person you are. Trials and illness are a part of life that we have to take advantage and do the most we can with it. So, when trials come upon us, we need to learn our limits and do the most we can for as long as we possibly can with family and
