The Art Of Time Ensemble
Growing up, The Beatles was never part of my childhood. Despite having the car always tuned to the radio station playing songs before the year 2000, every time their songs come up, my father always changed the station or a conversation would drown the song merely as background. I do not think it is intentional but it just so happened and they too were not a phenomenon in Malaysia. Therefore, coming to see the performance, I could not feel a special connection as how many in the audience felt, but, what I did find was the feeling of reminiscing.

The Art of Time Ensemble performed the Beetle’s SGT. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Having no reference to previous or future albums, this album had a blend of colorful, eccentric, and warm tune to it. Though, according to one of the guitarist during the recording of the album, he felt SGT. Pepper was a tune different than one that The

I felt that their presence too was very strong and noticeable in the performance. The singers actually made it a point to applaud the orchestra, gesturing acknowledgement and even giving the stage to them. I personally was very entertained by it, for there was a jazzy flare to their pieces which I thought was unique. The collaboration between the singers and the orchestra, definitely complemented each other and created the right tune.

An aspect of the performance which made it very warm was the interaction between the performers and the audience. The singers would converse amongst each other on stage and drop a Beatle’s joke in reference to the group. Now, again, I am reiterating that I am not familiar with their songs but I could not help but laugh at some of the jokes for it seemed they were so genuine. The performance this ensemble brought on stage was no just limited to its musical act, but the performance as a whole, from the atmosphere to the tunes, just made it feel

I have never heard such music as this and watch the players articulate the movements and timing necessary to be able to play such difficult pieces as these. Their sound was like a whole orchestra playing with them but it was only four players. It was a whole new experience for me. These pieces were beautiful but I guess I just didn’t have an ear for the changes in pitch and frequency. It was quite odd but also added to the pieces. I can’t wait to go to other concerts. The atmosphere is unlike any other. This experience unmatched by other concert experiences I’ve…

Although I am beginning to appreciate classical music more, I personally enjoy music with words more than music without words. When songs have words I pay more attention trying to figure what the storyline is behind the song. I am very into music all genres such as, pop, country, rock, reggae, and so on. I am open to listening to anything new, which is why I enjoy going to different music events such as this block party. Overall, I enjoyed this performance very much and I am glad I got to see such a great band perform for free, thanks to Utica College. I wish I could have listened to more but I am glad I got to hear a few musical selections before the event was…

The same tune would get caught in your ear, then it was moving you faster or slower; as well as that tune getting louder or softer at appropriate intervals coinciding with the dramas taking place. I also noticed a few woodwind and harp solos during the brighter, happier moments of the performance. The use of castanets and tambourines also caught my eyes and ears. Of course, there was tremendous use of varying the pitch and tempo as well as how loud or soft the music was. Again this is all to enhance how the emotion was conveyed to the audience. Additionally, a piece that stuck out in my head as I left (mainly because I’ve never really noticed or caught on to it until after learning this in one of our class sections) was toward the end when a solo played for a period of time and then that instrument was joined by all the other instruments—playing the same thing—in consistent pleasing…

Even though it was an early evening, there were about forty people, mostly of them tourists, walking around and taking photographs of each other on that famous zebra crossing. Many of them people wouldn’t have been born on 8 August 1969 when, David Bowie’s first hit ‘Space Oddity’ climbed towards the music charts, Iain Macmillan captured his most iconic photograph of the Beatles. In this single photograph he secured not only the group and their studio, but also created a turning point and a metaphor for the artistic and cultural journey that the Beatles had opened up for many people all around the globe.…

The concert was somewhat as I expected to be. The concert was so formal and organized. . Even though I had some prejudgments about the concert at first, I enjoyed listening to these pieces live. I will try to attend future classical music concerts. There were some parts where the management team could have done better. The artist demonstrated dynamics, technique, harmony and togetherness beautifully. Before leaving the concert hall I was able to speak briefly with some of the musicians, they were very helpful in answering my questions about the…

The book I chose to analyze is Choose your own adventure: The Cave of Time, which was the first book of the choose your own adventure series. On its own, the book stands as a rebel among normal books, presenting itself as an interactive book, where one must discontinuously read to harvest all the possible endings. On a personal level, the book's significance emerges as I delve into the past. Growing up in poor neighborhood in Venezuela, not many books were available to me, and thus reading for fun was never a consideration until I moved to Canada at eight years of age and my quality of education increased.…

The concert had many varied orchestra pieces with different rhythms and melodies. Certain pieces and sounds played throughout the concert reminded me of music played in eerie movies, romantic scenes, or family movies. Attending this concert made me more aware of the diversity of style and techniques used in orchestra concerts. I feel they used a variety of techniques to bring the rock theme together. I enjoyed this orchestra concert because they combined the different sounds of the orchestral instruments in an effective manner. I now have more knowledge regarding instruments, musicians, conductors, and the importance of brining it all together. I learned about the different important aspects of music. I enjoyed listening to different musical…
