(0:11) One specific event known as The Atlantic Slave Trade, lasting from the late 15th century through the 19th century has deeply impacted the nation. In this specific time period, history proved how at the very beginning of the centuries, mankind had already developed a strong desire and demand for labor. Because American natives died out or were just plain avoiding it, Europeans turned elsewhere; to Africa. Even African kingdoms, viewing slaves as “thieves, debtors, or prisoners of war” (1:55) and selling them only to benefit their kingdom; sold their own to build and strengthen their own place of peace in which of course they benefited from this selling slaves greatly. Evidence in the fact and event that kingdoms sold slaves for firearms, for weapons to protect their people, goes to show how man yearned for more and more. The concept of slavery itself is already beyond the thought of being wrong, soon after kings sold and profited from these trades, it became a necessity to them to sell only to become wealthier. By virtue of taking action in something that is immoral, with the after math of rising in the kingdom, the act of doing something immoral was taken long before this person even became close to being wealthy. SlamNation’s, “Money” clearly shows, the long, never ending list of a man whose thoughts and desires are endless to when he “gets the money”. The man in video, first statement was, “When I get the money, I’m gonna pitch the first ball in the world series..” instead of finishing off that statement, thought and or idea he continues with “and I am gonna…”. (0:15) This man has barely begun his first want for when he “gets the money” and immediately jumps to another idea, as if his first desire is not enough. The entire time the man is on the stage, he informs his audience of what he has planned for when he “gets the money”, starting from his first statement to his very last, “When I get the money, I’m gonna own MTV....”, talking nonstop during his performance about when he gets the money. (3:04) Intrinsically, this man has no money yet to be seen, however, he has plans and ideas of what he will do with it, as they are stated in the video. Additionally stating his long list of desires goes on and on to no end, bringing the audiences awareness to how he continuously wants something more or better in a greedily manner. This man does not even have this wealth yet and as he displays his emotions and desires for this wealth, it is obvious to anyone that his ways with wealth will not be so
