Different people might have different opinions on what a typical American family is and what it consist of. “The American family structure is considered a traditional family support system involving two married individuals providing care and stability for their biological offspring.” stated by Wikipedia. A husband, wife, and a child are the foundation of a typical American family. Giving details of what an American family consist of and looking more in depth to what makes up their home is the objective of this essay.
A typical American family has a husband, wife, child, one car, and apartment. The apartment is a small two bedroom, facility that also includes living room and dining room area. The couple has their bedroom which consists of a full size bed, dresser and television. Their child has his own bedroom as well which has a twin size bed, dresser and toys for entertainment. This apartment also consists of only one bathroom, which makes it difficult in the morning when everyone is trying to get ready at the same time. The American family has all their furniture and basic appliances. They do not have the latest or most expensive furniture and appliances but they do have all that is necessary to live comfortable.
The average American family has two cars. The husband drives a small two door coupe. He doesn’t need a big car since he only uses it to and from work. While the wife drives a four door sedan. She would need the spacious vehicle since she is the one who does the groceries and cares for the child most.
The child in an American family home is a boy and about the age of five. He is adore by both is parents even though they cannot spend a lot of time with him. This child spends most of his time at school and after school activities, being that both his parents work full time; they fill his schedule to accommodate their schedule. This child is not in need of anything, he is well provided for.
