In the movie Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie, there are many obvious differences from the actual factual events that took place. A lot of important details about Louis Zamperini’s life were left out in the movie. There are many reasons for this, which are arguably very important. The three biggest things that were left out of the movie are, the realization that Louis came to about his faith in God, Japanese guards actually treated Louis very well when he first was captured, and Louis actually came face to face with Adolf Hitler. All three of these things were left out of the movie for specific reasons, which Hollywood thought would boost ratings and amount of viewers.…

When adapting a well-known and loved play into a movie, the adaptor must keep in mind how the audience will react to a new version of a beloved story. An example of this is A Raisin in the Sun, which was adapted into a movie in 2008. Lorraine Hansberry wrote the original play and Paris Qualles adapted that play into a TV movie. The main themes of the story are family, faith, and hope. Following the narrative of a lower-class family living in Chicago in 1959, the play deals with racial tension, family issues, the journey from childhood to adulthood, and how each individual person impacts others around them, within the family unit and out in the world. Some minor issues with the play were resolved in the movie, such as the role of women and how they did not seem to have lives outside of the apartment. The 2008 movie adaptation stayed true to the original framework of the play while enriching the story for a modern audience.…
Field of Dreams, a film production directed by Phil Alden Robinson, is an enduring classic of its time that delves into the idyllic nature of baseball. The director’s subtle inclusion of diegetic sounds, depth cues, and the Kuleshov’s effect brings together a polished masterpiece that keeps the audience at the edge of their seats. In the film, the spirit of Doctor Archibald Graham refuses to return to Iowa with Ray despite his dreams of playing professional baseball. “Sixty-five years [before], for five minutes, [he] had come [so] close, it would kill [most] men to get so close to their dream and never touch it.” Graham chooses his present over his past and adamantly insists that “batting in the major league” is not written in his destiny. He will not leave Chisholm for it is his “most special place in the world.” His duty as a physician feels more fulfilling for “if [he’d] gotten to be a doctor for [only] five minutes… [that] would have been a tragedy.” In fact, Graham willingly accepts his fate and concedes that his sacrifice for the greater good has not been in vain.…

Have you ever encountered that a distinct and spectral whisper keeps revolving around you? Actually, this plot was presented in a movie called “Field of Dreams” which was filmed in 1989. In the movie, such an odd thing happened to a young man, Ray. What is more ridiculous is that Ray decided to follow the instructions given by the phantom voice, even though he was on the edge of bankruptcy, whereas most of us are afraid of pursuing or following our yearning hearts, eventually, there is no chance to regret.…
Rotting corpses, blood and guts are all unpleasant yet these elements are essential to any great horror film. Spoofing of horror films became popular in the year 2000 with films like Scary Movie that added ironic comedy and exaggerated plots to the gory slayings of serial killers and psychopaths. Most recently, zombies are all the rage. Zombies have hit the media full force with films and shows such as Zombie Land, 28 Days Later, I am legend, The Walking Dead, and World War Z. A seminal moment in the film “The Matrix” is where Neo chooses the red pill from Morpheous to see how deep the rabbit hole goals (rather than the other option of just returning to the matrix). Upon teaching Neo that his life had been part of the matrix, Morpheous said to him “Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?” The world around you could be something completely different from what you are currently perceiving it to be. This is known as a skeptical hypothesis and occurs when you are radically deceived about the world and yet your experience of the world…
With Whitefield’s sermons came The Great Awakening. Withefield’s provided the common citizens guidance to lead a better life with the guidance of and a better understanding of word of god. I do believe that The Great Awakening allowed the common citizen to have their own opinion without being influenced by their surroundings. Also, the fact that Withefiled introduced the common citizens to repentance allowed them to understand that they would bed ok to follow their own believes and make more independent decisions. Since citizens became more mindful of the word of god, they also realized they were doing wrong by enslaving humans. Freedom came to some slaved thanks to the face that their masters found god and repented. Along with physical freedom…
