Education is not a privilege, it is a right. A privilege is an advantage or source of pleasure granted to a person, and it can be taken away. A right is something you are born with, and you will die with it. An education can not be taken away by anyone or anything, which is why education is a right. Freire states in “The ‘Banking’ Concept of Education” that “students are depositories and teachers are depositors”. Students that ask questions about why something is what it is want to learn, but the students that do not ask questions do not want to learn. Those types of students let the teacher narrate, which shows how they lose an education. Students should take advantage of their education to become more educated. An education can not be taken
away once one acquires it, they have it until they die.
Emerson states in “Emerson on Education” that “education comes from one’s natural genius.” Students that wish to learn will bring out their natural genius unlike the one’s that do not want to learn. Education will not meet the student all the way because the student must reach out to their own education just like the quote, “when the student is ready the teacher will come.” The educator and education can appear in any shape or form but will only be beneficial in the way it is used. So education is a right and can be used in any way.

Thinking in education is a main component that can expand the learning process. Thinking is naturally given to everyone, and can be expanded by educating themselves.
