Question”, submitted 1939, Berlin 1. Fill in the following organizer based on this document. Solution to the Gypsy Problem What the author thinks of the solution Reasons for this position given by the author
A solution for the gypsies is to strip away all their culture and make them like the germans. The author thinks that it would be best to destroy all the gypsies.
This is because, the gypsies would pollute the blood of the germans and the purity would be lost.
the second solution for the gypsies was trying to settle them all in one place.
The author thinks that the gypsies would not be able to live where the germans wanted to put them.
They thought this because the gypsies were not peasants and the area was very isolated away from cities and stores.
Another solution was to send gypsies to labour camps so they would not reproduce any of their “kind” with any germans. The author thinks that the gypsies should be isolated away but should not be hurt and should be decently fed clothed and looked after.
If there was ever a shortage of labour the gypsies would always be there to work , the gypsy colonies could be accepted later on and they would still be around.
To train them and give them jobs to affect Germany positively The author thinks it’s okay if they put a positive effect on society He says they should earn a labour life since they’re so lazy 2. Who does the author compare with Gypsies?
The author compared the gypsies with every other person in Germany because they are just like us they are just immigrants 3. What special considerations or rules does the author consider for Gypsies?
