The Beatles 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'
According to Wikipedia the definition of friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. Everyone lives their own life, but in our life we our given the opportunity to meet people and make friends. Our relationship with those friends at times can lead to bad or good experiences. The songs "Help!" by the Beatles, Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel, and "Positively 4th Street" by Bob Dylan, portray the emotions we have when we encounter ourselves alone, and also with those we call friends.

"Help!" is a song by the Beatles that demonstrates the feelings and attitude of someone alone needing a friend. In the second stanza of the lyrics the Beatles write "I never needed anybody's help in any way, but now these days are gone". They say this because some people are very independent, however at times we can't do it on our own and need help from others. The Beatles then continue saying "I'm not so self assured, now I find I've changed my mind, and opened up the door's". This is said because the confidence the writer had in his independence is slowly diminishing, and has accepted the fact that having someone by his side is not such a bad thing.

This proves how a good friend is one who is their for us when we are at our lowest and knowing this gives us a feeling of secureness. In the ending to the song they add "if you need a friend I'm sailing right behind like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind". Having a good friend their for us not only keeps peace in our mind but takes the fear away of not going through something
