The Bedroom Of Van Gogh At Arles
The poem "Van Gogh's Bed" described the bed in the picture The Bedroom of van Gogh at Arles perfectly. The poem was short but in the few short lines it told you a lot, just by reading the poem you knew about the color, size, amount of pillows, and frame of the bed. As I read the poem I looked at the picture to compare the bed to what I read, to me everything matched up perfectly. The poem began by describing the color as "Orange like the sun when he looked it straight in the eye." When looking at the picture this seemed to be the best way to describe the orange almost yellow bed. The only line that I had a difficult time placing was " an old wife beat the mattress till it rose like meringue." The mattress may have been in poor shape but from
the picture this was hard to determine.Other then that line every line in the poem seemed to be precisely chosen to describe the bed in the picture.
